You maybe wondering if a part-time REALTOR is right for you. To be honest it depends on what you are looking for from your agent.
If you are a seller, a part-time agent should be no different from a full-time agent. You may even find less pressure and easier to work with someone who has multiple streams of income. What is really important is that your agent is well informed of current market, has a good marketing strategy, and willing to over-communicate.
If you are a buyer, depending on your schedule and agent’s availability, you may find a full-time agent advantageous. Especially in current market where homes go under contracts within days or even hours, you want someone who is not stuck in office until 6PM.
However, a part-time REALTOR may still work for you, if:
- You yourself have a 9-5 job and can see homes only in the evenings or on weekends.
- You are okay buying a home sight unseen.
- You are buying a new construction home.
- You already know which home(s) to make an offer on.
- You are an investor.
