How do I book a session?
Just hit up the contact page, send an email to hello@amerkhalid.com, text (214) 471-5522, or book directly through the online booking page. You'll hear back within 1-2 days.
How far in advance should I book?
For seniors, 1-3 weeks out is the sweet spot. For families, 1-3 weeks works great. Underwater sessions book up fast since availability is limited, so the earlier the better.
Do you only shoot in Frisco?
Nope! Frisco is home base, but sessions happen all across North Texas: Plano, Prosper, McKinney, Little Elm, The Colony, Allen, Dallas, and beyond. Travel outside the area may have a small additional fee.
Is photography your full-time thing?
Not quite. I'm also a software engineer, which means I take on a limited number of sessions each month. The upside? Every client gets full attention and a genuinely personalized experience instead of a factory-line shoot.
I'm not a senior or athlete. Can I still book?
Yes! I work with creatives, actors, artists, personal brands, and anyone who wants bold portraits. Same session quality, tailored to what you need.
Pricing & Packages
How much does a session cost?
Portrait sessions (seniors, juniors, college grads, athletes, creatives) start at $250 for a 60-minute session with 15 edited photos. Family sessions start at $350. Underwater sessions start at $750. Full details on the pricing page.
What's included in every session?
All sessions come with professional editing and retouching, digital delivery via an online gallery, and a pre-session planning call so you show up feeling confident.
Can I add more photos or time?
If you need extra images, more time, or anything beyond what's included, just reach out and we'll put together custom pricing. Every session is flexible.
Do you offer prints?
Yes! Print packages are available on request. Just ask after you get your gallery back.
What to Expect
What's a session actually like?
Way more chill than you'd expect. There's guided posing the whole time so you're never just standing there awkwardly. Most people end up having a lot of fun. The vibe is relaxed, not stiff.
How long until I get my photos back?
Typically 7-14 days. You'll get a link to your online gallery where you can view, download, and share.
What should I wear?
Wear something that makes you feel like you. Bold colors and layers work great for outdoor sessions. For families, pick 2-3 complementary colors (not matching outfits). Underwater? Flowy fabrics that move in the water. For creative sessions, bring whatever represents your vibe.
Can I do multiple outfits?
Yes! Outdoor sessions include one outfit change. Underwater sessions allow 1-2 outfits. If you want even more variety, reach out and we can customize your session.
Senior Portraits
Can I bring a friend to my session?
For sure, bring your bestie. It makes the whole thing more fun and you'll get way more natural expressions.
Can we sneak in a parent or sibling photo?
100%. A few family frames at the end of the session is totally doable and honestly makes for a great keepsake.
Do you do cap and gown shots?
Yes! We can include cap and gown shots as part of your session. Bring your cap, gown, stole, cords, whatever you've got.
College & Graduation Portraits
Do you photograph college students and graduates?
Yes! I work with college students and recent graduates from UNT, UT Dallas, SMU, TCU, Collin College, Texas Woman's University, Dallas Baptist University, and schools across DFW. Same session quality, same pricing, tailored to wherever you are in your journey.
Can I book a graduation portrait session with my cap and gown?
Absolutely. Bring your cap, gown, stole, cords, honor cords, whatever you've earned. We can shoot at a campus, a park, or any location that fits your vibe.
Do you shoot on college campuses?
Yes! I've shot across DFW campuses and I'm happy to meet you at yours. Some campuses require a permit for professional photography so we'll figure that out during planning.
I already graduated. Is it too late to book?
Not even close. Plenty of people book graduation portraits months after they finish. If you've got the cap and gown, we're good to go.
Sports & Athlete Portraits
Can you shoot at my field or gym?
Yes! On-location shoots with professional lighting are no problem. Your turf, pro-level results.
Do you do recruiting portraits?
Yep. Clean, sharp headshots and action-style portraits that are ready for recruiting profiles and highlight reels.
Do you work with teams?
Yes! Custom team pricing is available. Reach out through the contact page and we'll put together a package.
Can I bring my gear and uniform?
Please do. Jerseys, cleats, bats, balls, helmets. Whatever represents your sport. It all adds to the final look.
Underwater Portraits
Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
You just need to be comfortable being in the water. There's a full safety briefing before every session and you're always in control.
Where do underwater sessions happen?
In a private backyard pool. Either yours or the photographer's. It's a controlled, comfortable environment.
Is it safe?
Very. Safety is the top priority. Every session starts with a briefing, and you set the pace. If you need a break, you take a break. No pressure.
Families
What if my kids are camera-shy?
Totally normal, especially with teens and tweens. I keep things low-key and give easy direction so nobody feels put on the spot. Most kids warm up fast once they see it's not a stiff, traditional shoot.
Can we bring our dog?
Please bring your dog. Pets make family sessions way more fun and the photos way more memorable.
What ages do you work with?
Family sessions work best with older kids who can have fun with some light direction. I keep groups to 5 people max so everyone gets great coverage.
