Soraya Mafi is a British-Iranian soprano, in town for her Dallas Opera debut as Adina in L’Elisir d’Amore.
She wanted strong, grown-up portraits to promote her upcoming roles, plus a few candids for Instagram. Nothing that looks like a posed opera singer.
The black dress was the promo look, shot in the early morning sun on the concrete steps. The polka dot dress and white top were the warmer side: orange oaks, the reflecting pool, cowboy boots, and a carry-on rolling down an empty street.
